Louise Howard

Annie "Louise" Cullins Nicholson Howard of Midland Texas, 87, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 after a lengthy illness.

Louise was born January 5, 1928 in Coleman, Texas. She grew up in Coleman and attended school at Loss Creek. Louise was married to Wesley Neal Nicholson and JC Howard.

Louise worked at Congers CafAC. and the Manhattan for many years as a waitress. She also worked as a nurse at Leisure Lodge and at Holiday Hill Nursing Home and received the Nurse of the Year Award.

Louise was very devoted to her grandchildren and moved to Midland in 2004 to be near them and watch her first great-grandson, Wesley, and future great grandchildren grow up. Louise was also a member of Concho Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Lillie Cullins, one sister, Mavis Stoup and two grandsons.

Louise is survived by her daughter Paula Louise Nicholson Sherrill and her husband Earl. Also surviving her, are two grandsons Lynn Sherrill and his wife Leah, Jay Sherrill and his wife Brittian, and five great grandchildren, Azyanna, Wesley, Kaleigh, Talveyonna, and Liam. Louise also leaves behind one brother, L.H. Cullins, a brother-in-law, Bill Stoup, both of Coleman and two nieces, Kathy Lindsey of Lubbock and Malvina Brouwer of Brownwood.

Visitation is Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman. The funeral service will be held at Concho Baptist Church, 216 West 10th Street, Coleman, 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 with Rev. Daniel Stovall officiating. Burial will follow in Coleman City Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. Her two grandsons will be performing Amazing Grace at the funeral.
