He was born Lynn Wilson Reed on July 23, 1947 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Harold B. Reed and Alma Lucille McNeil Reed.  At a young age, his family moved to San Antonio, where Lynn attended school, graduating from Kennedy High School in 1965.  He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969.  On December 7, 1969, Lynn married Jackie Dean Barbour in El Paso.

Lynn worked for the State of Texas Parks and Wildlife for many years, working as an electrician.  When he retired from Parks and Wildlife, he was the department head over maintenance at Indian Lodge in Fort Davis.  Lynn and Jackie moved to Abilene in 2010.  Lynn collected belt buckles and loved tinkering with anything that was electrical just to see how it worked.  His greatest hobby was watching or reading the news and learning about what was going on in the world.  He had read the Bible from cover to cover several times, often reading it to Jackie.  Lynn was a member of the Methodist faith.

Those left to cherish Lynn’s memory are his children, Christy Lowe and husband, Robert, of Coleman, Deborah Robinson and husband, Jeff, of Merkel, Ronnie Reed and wife, Sherry of Abilene; five brothers and sisters, Carl Reed and wife, Frances, of San Antonio, Roy Reed and wife, Sandie, of Von Ormy, Jay Reed and wife, Barbara, of Floresville, Hal Reed and wife, Roxy, of Fowlerton and Joy Tipton and husband, Nolan, Jr., of Livingston.  Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren with one expected to arrive in several weeks and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lynn is joined in heaven by his parents, his wife, Jackie, two sisters, Sandra Driesbach, Francine Reed and one brother, Ross.

Please leave kind thoughts, memories and condolences for the family on his tribute page on www.livingmemorials.com.  Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Reed family.
