Marjorie E. (Mrs. G. W.) Wilson, age 99, of Coleman, died Sunday, August 17, 2014, at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Donald Ross Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Glen Cove Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
She was born Majorie Griffith on October 14, 1914 in Glen Cove, a daughter of Jodie E. Griffith and Annie Elena Bradley Griffith. She grew up in the Glen Cove area and attended school at New Central. On July 18, 1934 she married G. W. Wilson in Coleman and he preceded her in death on January 6, 2005. She was a wife, mother and a homemaker and a member of Elm Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include her two daughters, Virginia and husband Monroe Bethke of San Antonio, Joyce and husband Mac Anderson of Coleman; five grandchildren, Marla and husband Jeff Frye and their children Stephanie, Andrew and Jennifer and her husband Jerrid Brann, John and wife Enedelia Straughan and their children Ariana and Celeste, Lisa Birdwell and her children David and Brynn, Jodie and wife Sandra Anderson and their children Tanner and Will Anderson and Callie and husband Matt Erwin, Alan and wife Robin Anderson and their children Mackenzie, Maycie and Beau Anderson; two nieces, Jodie and Jack Baggett and family, Kay Lynn and Steve Evans and family; two nephews, Ben and Debbie Scott and family, David and Amy Scott and family; numerous cousins, including Billie Ann Votaw and Sue Ward; her care-givers, Bonnie Thurwalker and Irene Bee; and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Loyce Elena; her brother, Jodie Merle Griffith, and her husband.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. until service time at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas 76834.
