Marsha Miller Brooks, 67, of Coleman died Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Coleman County Medical Center. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2016 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Bro. Don Harmes officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Marsha was born August 13, 1948 in Brownfield, Texas, the daughter of G.C. Slough and Louise Smith Slough. In her early years, she and her family lived in many places. When she was 16, Marsha's family settled in Coleman. She married Robby Brooks on June 26, 1965 and they celebrated 25 years of marriage.
Marsha worked as a home health provider, helping people anyway she could. She was very devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. They were her world and they are going to miss her deeply. Marsha was also a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Coleman.
Marsha is survived by three children, Bobby Brooks and wife, Christi, of Coleman, Randy Brooks of Coleman, Tracy Brooks of Coleman; two sisters and one brother, Cathy Bowman and husband, Richard of Coleman, Michael Higgins of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kim O'Malley of Moscow, Idaho; eight grandchildren, Hailey Senak and husband, Rob, of Dallas, Durinda VanPelt and husband, Clayton, of San Angelo, Corbin Brooks and wife, Shelby, of Brownfield, Tanner Brooks of Coleman, Kelsey Puckett of San Angelo, Miranda Brooks and fiancAC.e, Brady Lambert of Ballinger, Ethan and Hunter Johnson of Coleman and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-parents, G.C. and Durinda Slough and Louise and Raymond Higgins.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2016 at Stevens Funeral Home.
