Martha "Marty" Marie Palmore

Martha Marie "Marty" Palmore, 67, of Rising Star, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Rising Star Nursing Home in Rising Star. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman.

Martha Marie "Marty" Palmore was born January 16, 1948 in Lampasas to John Jefferson Johnson, Sr. and Maddie Ruth Biddie Johnson. Her family moved around during her growing up years, living in Texas, Missouri and back to Texas. She moved to Rising Star in 1980. She worked as the Activity Director at Rising Star Nursing Home. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include three sisters and one brother, Annie Jo Perry of Harwood, John Jefferson Johnson, Jr. of Abilene, Hazel Victoria Rowlette of Hamilton, Ohio, Betty Elizabeth Hickman of Rising Star and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Marty was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Frances Dywer and two brothers, Andrew Jackson Johnson and Jerry Dean Johnson.
