Mary Anna Dale

Mary Anna Nichols Dale, age 97, of Coleman, died Tuesday, May 02, 2017, at Coleman County Medical Center. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 5, at the Rough Creek Cemetery Pavilion with Brother Don Harmes, pastor of Community Baptist Church in Coleman, officiating. Interment will follow in the Rough Creek Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.

Mary Anna Nichols was born June 26, 1919, in Novice, Texas, a daughter of Morgan Lewis (Jan) Nichols and Minnie Dyer Nichols. She grew up in Coleman County and graduated from Novice High School. On June 3, 1938 she married Vardie Dale and he preceded her in death on June 23, 1993. She was a life-time resident of Coleman County and had worked at the Café and Grocery Store at Novice. She was a member of Community Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Sheila Durham of Coleman; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Lyman, Sharon Hawkins, Alex Stewart, Raymond Stewart and Alan Durham; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Jean Stewart in 2002, a granddaughter, Julie Durham in 2015; two brothers and one sister.
