Melinda Bowen, age 53, of Coleman, died Saturday, October 1, 2022, at her residence.
The family will host a time of visitation and reflection from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
Melinda Jean Bowen was born on November 9, 1968, in Coleman to Robert Lynn Bowen and Janet Elaine Priddy Bowen Holloway. She grew up in Coleman where she attended school. She was an expert bartender and worked at Donna Sue’s, Redman Lodge, and Wild Horse Saloon. Melinda enjoyed painting, listening to all genres of music, and watching professional bull riding rodeo. She loved her family and had many extended friends all over Coleman County.
Preceding Melinda in death is her mother, Janet Holloway; and her grandparents, Wilma and James Priddy and Annie Bowen.
She is survived by her daughter, Jana Yarbrough and husband Charles of Coleman; three grandchildren, Alexis Yarbrough, Makenzie Yarbrough, and Cheyenne Yarbrough; her father, Robert Lynn Bowen; one brother, Rusty Holloway and wife Ashley of Forsan; two sisters, Ginger Gardner of Coleman and Cheryl Strickland and husband Shawn of Grosvenor; four step-brothers, Charles Duqette of Coleman, Jimmy Roe of Coleman, Jack Duqette of Brownwood, and Craig Duqette of Coleman; and many nieces and nephews.
