Nancy Smith

Nancy Smith, 77, of Coleman died Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. She was born September 21, 1936 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the daughter of Austin Ridenour and Maude Anna Nunnemaker Ridenour. She moved with her family at the age of five to California, where she graduated from high school. On June 18, 1955, she married Joe C. "Pap" Gagliardo in Humboldt, California. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1958. She later marred Orin Eugene Smith on February 6, 1960 in Nevada. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2005.

While living in California, Nancy was an active bowler and enjoyed crocheting and knitting. After moving to Coleman in 2004, she became a member of Central Baptist Church.

Survivors include three children, Peter Gagliardo of California, Leanna Greenbush of South Park, Florida and Karen Stamp of Coleman; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Chris, Serena, Sean, Kimberly, Luke and Devon; three great grandchildren, Tara and husband, Hunter, Travis and Justin; one brother, Darrell Ridenour and wife, Connie, of California and several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers also preceded her in death.

At the request of Nancy, her body will be cremated. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
