Omer Cullins

Omer Cullins, 90, of Santa Anna, died Tuesday, March 07, 2017 at Coleman Healthcare Center. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Santa Anna Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Marvin Hale officiating. Burial will be in the Santa Anna Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Omer Cullins was born December 20, 1926 in Coleman to Alva Ray Cullins and Beatrice Scott Cullins. He grew up and attended schools in Coleman and Santa Anna. He served in the United States Army at the end of World War II. In 1945, he married Violet Oneta Sluder in Coleman. She preceded him in death on November 17, 2009. Omer was a farmer and rancher, working for Corky Chapman for over 20 years. Omer also was carpenter and owned the Texaco Service Station for five years.

Survivors include five children, Ira Omer Cullins, Jr. and wife, Judy, of Thrifty, Ann Rutherford and husband, Joe, of Grape Creek, Richie Cullins and wife, Paula, of Plains, Robert Cullins and wife, Jo Ellen, of Brownwood, Steven Cullins and wife, Marilyn, of Brownwood; nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his wife, Omer was preceded in death by two brothers, Alva Lee Cullins and George Mason Cullins.
