Patricia Ruth (Rocquemore) Rose

Patricia Rose, 88, of Coleman and former resident of Dallas, died Friday, February 12, 2021 at Coleman County Medical Center.  The family will be hosting an inurnment at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Patricia Ruth Rose born February 23, 1932 in Sweetwater to Frank Rocquemore and Florence Kennedy Rocquemore.  She grew up in Dalhart and Stanton, where she graduated from high school.  She later graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington.  Patricia met Robert Lloyd Rose and they married on September 29, 1948 in San Angelo.

Patricia taught third grade in the Dallas Independent School District and taught seventh and eighth grade science for a private school Catholic school.  She also had her own cosmetic business, being a sales distributor with Fashion 220.  In Patricia’s spare time, she enjoyed playing golf, which she had hope to go back to Japan and play there.  She was also a master Bridge player and traveled to Turkey to play in a Bridge tournament shortly after 9/11.  Patricia loved traveling the world.  Patricia moved to Coleman this past January from Dallas.  Patricia was a member of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include two children, Robert Alan Rose of Coleman, Dr. Terri Lynn Rose of Lubbock; one grandson, Sam Rose of Seattle, Washington and one sister, Nancy Gregg, of Burkburnett.  Patricia is also survived by one sister-in-law, Carolyn Rose of Mustang, Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Lloyd Rose in 1999; a son, David Andrew Rose in 2018 and a brother-in-law, Richard Rose.
