Patsy Burns, 80, of Coleman died Monday, May 5, 2014 at her residence. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion, 1600 East 9th Street, Coleman, with Rev. Daniel Stovall officiating. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.
She was born Patsy Jean Farris on May 6, 1933 in Coleman, a daughter of Bert G. Farris and Annie Will Smith Farris. She graduated from Coleman High School in 1950. On April 4, 1953, she married James A. Burns. After their marriage, Patsy and James moved to the metroplex area. She worked as a manager for Verizon in Dallas for many years and moved to Abilene in 1996. She moved back to Coleman a few years ago.
Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Curoe of Abilene; two grandchildren, Lauren Stover and her husband, Joel, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Colin Curoe of Austin; one great-granddaughter, Madelyn Stover of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Burns on August 13, 2008 and a brother, Bert Wayne Farris on August 29, 2011.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
