Raylene Plummer

Raylene Duke Plummer, 49, passed away from this earth on March 18, 2015 at Hendricks Medical Center. She was the wife of Joe Plummer. They shared 18 wonderful years together.
Raylene was born on September 14, 1965 in Coleman where she lived a short time before moving to Houston. Raylene was the daughter of Bill Haas and Doris Allen and raised by Dr. Jean And Doris Duke. She attended school at Alief Hasting in Houston. Raylene married Joe in September at their home in Novice, Texas. She was a stay at home mom, and blessed with a miracle baby which became her whole world.
She was a member of the Baptist church and constantly involved in activities and organizations in the school and community. She enjoyed fishing and could spend hours at the lake. Another passion of hers was gardening. Raylene could grow just about anything and always enjoyed giving her bounty to friends and family. But the most important thing was taking care of "her kids", as she helped raise many children around Novice. She will be remembered for her compassion, determination, generosity, and witty remarks.
She is survived by her loving husband- Joe Plummer, sons- Emory and Gage Louis Plummer, mother- Doris Duke, sister- Jan McRae and her husband Grady McRae, nieces- Alyssa Ellis, Arkansas Morreau, and Alli McRae, step-sisters- Dee Ann Day, Julie Swink, aunts- Nell Walthall and Mary Allen, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother Louis "Bubba" Haas, step-father Dr. Jean Duke, and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Allen and Verda Haas.
The memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with internment following at the Rough Creek Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Stevens Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
