Robert Foster, age 73, of Potosi, died Monday, May 17, 2021 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. The family will host a visitation on Friday, May 21, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Bud Bolton officiating. Interment will follow in the White Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Robert Spencer Foster was born March 20, 1948 in Oakland, California, the son of Herbert Spencer Foster and Jean Poaletti Foster. He grew up in Coleman and attended Coleman schools. On February 7, 1969 he married Veta (Jo Jo) Bolton in Coleman. Robert was a hard worker all of his life. While he was still a teen-ager he started working in the oilfield. He advanced from roughneck, driller, truck driver and eventually to Tool Pusher. He worked for Hack Drilling Company for many years then Union Drilling, Riley Drilling and Smith Pipe Company. Robert loved his family and he will be deeply missed by them.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Bobbie Paris.
He is survived by his wife Veta (Jo Jo) Foster of Potosi; two daughters, Brandi Barbee and husband John of Buffalo Gap and Shayla Scott and husband Jared of Weatherford; nine grandchildren, Garret Hutcheson and wife Alexis of Tuscola, Chance Perkins and wife Brandi of Potosi, Chasidy Jennings and husband Jacob of Potosi, McKinna Barbee of Buffalo Gap, Jayce Barbee and wife Holli of Potosi, Kelsey Barbee of Clyde, Lane Griffon of Ft. Worth, Sydne Cantu and husband Sam of Conroe and Samantha Griffon of Weatherford; 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Garret Hutcheson, Chance Perkins, Lane Griffon, Guy Bolton, Ricky Paris, Jayce Barbee, Jared Scott, John Barbee, Jacob Jennings and Bryan Barrett.
