Robert Marsh Kleiber, 69, of Burkett, died Friday, October 10, 2014 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Chaplain Bobby Machen officiating. Burial will be in the Burkett Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
He was born May 7, 1945 in Lake City, Minnesota to William Arnold Kleiber and Flo Malone Henry Kleiber. With his father being in the Military, Robert grew up all over the United States. He did graduated from college in Waco and served with the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966. On November 7, 1970, he married Alice Beth Golson in Novice. Robert was an over the road truck driver for over 30 years, hauling box freight and also crude oil. He also worked as a dairy farmer and worked as cowboy on the Scarborough Ranch. He has been living in Burkett since 1982 and was a member of the American Legion in Cross Plains.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Beth Kleiber of Burkett, three children; Matt and Emma McKinney of Goldsboro and their children, Alice, Kevin and Jessica; Steven and Amber Kleiber of Cross Plains and their children, Brenna and Kenzie; Dawn and Gabe Garcia of Menard and their family, Cheyenne and Garrett and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Flo Kleiber; one brother, Bill Kleiber and a granddaughter, Victoria Sage Garcia.
There will be a visitation following the service at the funeral home.
