Robert D. Trammell, age 69, of Midland, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, died in Midland on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, surrounded by his family.  The family will host a visitation on Saturday, January 30, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan, Coleman.  The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 31, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brad Smith officiating.  Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.  To protect each other from CoVID19 infection, we ask that you comply with the CDC social distancing guidelines as well as Governor Greg Abbott’s request that a face covering be utilized.

Robert was born December 12, 1951 in Coleman, Texas, a son of Vonceal Trammell and Ruth Adkins Trammell.  He grew up in Coleman where he attended school, graduating in the Class of 1970.  He attended Cisco Junior College.  On January 2, 1971 he married Clarice Smith, in Coleman, and they just celebrated 50 years of marriage.  Robert had a career in sales and management and recently retired.  Robert enjoyed fishing with his grandsons and son-in-law, Royal Ranger camp outs and pinewood derby races.  He loved talking about cars and barbecue with his sons-in-law.  Some of Robert’s happiest times, and his family’s favorite memories, were of him coaching his girl’s soft ball teams, throwing them off of the inner tube at the lake and fishing with the boys.  They fondly remember him taking his great grandkids to the trampoline park, skating, and pulling them in the wagon behind the riding lawn mower.
Robert attended Calvary Assembly of God Church in Midland.  He served as a Commander in Royal Rangers for many years.  He had a big heart, a great personality, an infectious laugh, and he never met a stranger.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Clarice Trammell, of Midland; two daughters, Christi Braggs and husband Bryan of Leander; Shelly Clawson and husband Troy of Abilene; his grandchildren, Brooke Dolloff and husband Kenden of Abilene, Allison Finch and husband Thomas of Junction City, Kansas, Brent Rogers and wife Mallory of Midland, Zane Rogers and wife Marysol of Leander, Cade Braggs of Leander; great-grandchildren, Brianna Trammell, Bristol Trammell and Kenneth Dolloff all of Abilene, Sophia Rogers and Raquel Rogers both of Leander, and Haylee Rogers of Midland; siblings, Eddie Trammell and wife Juanita of San Diego, California, Betty Bates and husband Ronald of Waco, William Trammell of San Angelo, Mary Jo Brixey and husband Ken of Coleman; uncle, Donald Trammell and wife Sara Jo of Lufkin; numerous nieces and nephews.
