Rodger “Roddy” Rhone, age 61, passed away on December 12, 2020 at his home in Granbury, Texas. Services will be held at the Coleman City Cemetery pavilion on Thursday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. David Medley, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Coleman, officiating. Interment will follow in the Rhone family plot in Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman. For those wishing to go in procession to the cemetery, please meet at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday.
Roddy was born in Coleman, Texas on May 5, 1959. He attended Coleman schools. He worked at the family business, Geo D. Rhone Company before getting his real estate license and becoming a broker in 1990. He moved to Granbury in 2001 with his parents Don and Patsy. He loved making his own computers and working on them. He was employed for 10 years as night manager for Comfort Suites in Granbury.
He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, George and Gladys Rhone and Doc and Bea McNutt; his dad George “Don” Rhone; two brothers, Ryan Rhone and Randy Rhone; an uncle, John (Dede) Rhone and cousin, Dwayne Rhone.
He is survived by his mother, Patsy Rhone; daughter, Kara Witten; brother, Rusty Rhone and wife Kim; sister, Rosanne Rhone; one niece, Madison Rhone; three nephews, Braden Phone, David Rhone and Donald Rhone, and wife, Megan; aunt, Joyce Rhone and cousin, Rhonda Chapman and husband Kevin.
The family suggests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 852, Coleman, Texas 76834 or First Baptist Church, 1851 Weatherford Hwy, Granbury, Texas 76048.
