Rodney Terrill Jones

Rodney Terrill (Rod) Jones, age 72, of Coleman, earned his angel wings on Wednesday, December 6, 2018.   Visitation will be Saturday, December 8, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman.   Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 9, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marvin Hale officiating.  Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Rodney Terrill Jones was born September 21, 1946 in Coleman, a son of Fred Jones and Alice Cornelius Jones.  He grew up in Coleman County and attended school at Mozelle, graduating in 1964.  He was a skilled carpenter for many years and built many homes in and around Coleman County.  He and Bobbie Livingston were married on October 20, 1984.   He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and Papaw and will be deeply missed by his family.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Jones; two daughters, Staci and husband Richard Hensley, Raeann and husband Jesse Mills; grandchildren, Kaci and husband Todd Leist, Mercedes Taylor, Justin and wife Payton Hensley, Taylor Mills and Seth Mills, Dade and wife Laura Cosby, Tyler and wife Krysten Mills, Kandys and husband Lance Dunn; great-grandchildren (his angels), Callie and Maddie Leist, Sydney Dunn, Damian and Emery Mills; two brothers, Jerry and wife Beth Jones, William Earl and wife Joan Jones; one sister, Frances Richardson; extended family, Adel and husband Duwayne Hunter and boys, Brady, Dalton, Darrian, Denver, and Dayden;  numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Rodney Earl Taylor, and one sister, Freda Stephenson.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Coleman Athletic Booster Club, P. O. Box 502, Coleman, Texas 76834.
