Roy Lee Koenig

Roy Lee Koenig went into eternity Sunday night November 24, 2013 at Seton hospital in Austin, TX. He was born on October 22, 1954 to Harvey and the late Pat Koenig. He is survived by his father Harvey Koenig of San Angelo; his loving and faithful dog, BW (Boy Wonder); his sisters Margie Graham and Judy Shockey of Abilene; his brother Johnny Koenig of Hattiesburg, MS; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Pat Koenig and Grandmother Edna Perkins.

Roy loved to come to San Angelo to visit his mom and dad. He spent a lot of time in the music room recording songs with his parents.

Roy had a big strong heart and was always helping other people. He was happiest when doing something for someone else. He loved his friends and family and showed that often in small and big ways. He was known for being loyal to those he cared about.

Roy joined the US Marine Corp in 1974 where he obtained the rank of Sergeant. The majority of his four year tour as a Marine was spent at the Naval Air Station in Grand Prairie, TX.

Roy was employed at the Whole Foods Market Southwest Regional Support Office. He started there on April 14, 1997 and his last official title was: Building/Office Manager and Accounts Payable. He was recognized as "Team Member of the Year" in 2010.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov 30 at the funeral home. Visitation may be made prior to that. At the request of Roy, it will be a closed casket service and there will not be a procession to the cemetery and no gravesite services.
