Ruth Poldrack, age 71, of Coleman, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, in Coleman County Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Stanislaw officiating. Interment will be in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Evelyn Ruth Radle on August 29, 1941 in Santa Anna, Texas, the daughter of Philip and Ethel Winn Radle. She grew up in Santa Anna and graduated from Santa Anna High School. On April 1, 1961 she married Nick Poldrack in the Northside Baptist Church parsonage in Santa Anna. During high school and until 1966, Ruth worked at the Santa Anna News. In 1967 she went to work at the Chronicle and Democrat-Voice in Coleman where she was a linotype operator and following the transfer to computers, continued helping in many areas to get the newspaper published. She retired from the newspaper after 47 years, in November 2012. Ruth also helped her husband, Nick, in his lawn care business for several years, which she enjoyed very much. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coleman and the Unity Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her husband, Nick Poldrack, of Coleman; two granddaughters, Jordan Batla of Garland and Brandi Batla of Arlington; six great-grandchildren, Nadia, Amairo, Aidrien, Junior, Patience and Zechariah; one brother, Bob Stewart of Arlington; cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; a brother, Billy Radle; and her daughter, Danita Batla.

Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas.
