Sandra Ann (Burkett) Morris

Sandra Morris, age 83, of Coleman, died Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Holiday Hill Nursing Home.

She was born Sandra Ann Burkett on November 7, 1939, in Midland, Texas  to J.S. “Pete” Burkett and Annabelle McCormick Burkett.  Sandra grew up in Midland and graduated from Midland High School.   She was a loving wife and mother, being a full-time mother and homemaker.  Later in life she became a unit secretary at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Sandra enjoyed planting flowers and tending to her yard.  She had a love for watching birds, especially the red bird species.  Sandra could sit for hours watching the birds from her porch or window.  She relocated to Lake Coleman to be closer to family due to declining health.  She will be missed.

Preceding Sandra in death are her parents; one son, Carlton Craig; and one sister, Carol Burkett.

She is survived by one daughter, Laura Morris of Coleman; four grandchildren, Amanda Kay Herzog, Christopher Craig, Meagan Leigh Wallace, and Abigayle Pasley; ten great-grandchildren, Sophie Rubio, Ariana Rubio, Luciana Rubio, Chloe Morris, Raleigh Morris, Ryland Wallace, Ava Wallace, Carson Jones, Cason Jones, and Cara Pasley; and one sister, Kay Willis.

A memorial service celebrating Sandra’s life will be announced at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

The family would like to express sincere thanks and gratitude to Coleman Home Health and Hospice for the wonderful care given to Sandra.
