Shanna Lee Steele-Perkins, a beloved wife, dedicated nurse, cherished friend, passed away on August 15, 2024, in Bangs, Texas. She was born on November 20, 1954, in Fort Worth, Texas, to James Steele and Carolyn Turner Steele.

Educated at Granbury High School and Texas Christian University, Shanna earned her nursing degree before becoming a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner. Her commitment to the well-being of others extended beyond work, as she was known for her kind and giving personality that left a lasting impact on both her patients and family.

Shanna's career as a nurse was marked by compassion and dedication. She worked tirelessly in various healthcare settings, including Harris Methodist, Shannon Medical Center, and Cross Timbers. Alongside her professional responsibilities, Shanna played a crucial role in educating future nurses at the University of Texas at Victoria and Hardin Simmons University.

In her leisure time, Shanna found joy in reading, exploring different musical genres, cooking, and tending to her garden. These interests reflected her vibrant spirit and zest for life.

Among her proudest accomplishments was her marriage to Tommy Perkins in 1998 in Coleman, Texas. Together, Shanna and Tommy celebrated twenty-six wonderful years of love and companionship.

Shanna is survived by her loving and supportive husband, Tommy Perkins, who stood by her side throughout life's journey. She is also survived by her brother, David Steele, and his wife Carolyn of Mansfield. Additionally, Shanna is survived by her special cousins, Melissa Faubion, Lanny Turner, Janelle Turner, and Raenese Byron, nieces, nephews, and special friends, Linda Burns, Linda Bobbitt, and Linda Brady. 

As we mourn the passing of Shanna Lee Steele-Perkins, we remember her as a dedicated healthcare professional, a devoted partner, and a kind soul who touched the lives of many. May her legacy of kindness and care live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Shanna requested no memorial or funeral service. Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
