Shari Earp, age 70, of Abilene, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday, March 05, 2017, at her residence. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at North Park Assembly of God Church, 1918 Jameson Street, Abilene, with her husband, Rev. Sam Earp, son, Rev. Rick Earp and son-in-law, Rev. John Shepard, officiating.
She was born Sharon Carol Beebe on August 6, 1946, in Chouteau, Oklahoma, a daughter of Jay E. Beebe and Hazel Timmons Beebe. Since her father was an Assembly of God pastor, she grew up in several different places, but lived for several years in Burns, Oregon, where she graduated from Burns Union High School in 1964. Shari came to Abilene, Texas, to visit her brother, who was stationed at Dyess Air Force Base. While in Abilene, she met Sam Earp, and after a whirlwind courtship, they were married on February 20, 1965 in Abilene. They have celebrated 52 years of marriage. Following their marriage, Sam was an Evangelist and they traveled to different states for preaching engagements. In 1974, Sam became the pastor of North Park Assembly of God Church in Abilene and Shari was his faithful and constant companion there until they retired after almost 40 years. She was a dedicated wife, devoted mother, and doting grandmother to her family. Recently, she was so excited about the news that granddaughter Jennifer and husband Brody were having a baby in September. Shari was a proud card-carrying member of the Cherokee tribe from Oklahoma. She was a member of North Park Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband, Sam Earp of Abilene; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Cindy Earp of Abilene; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheresa Shepard and husband John of Abilene; six grandchildren, Sharilyn Walters and husband Jeremy, Jennifer Ratto and husband Brody, Ryan Earp, Katy Earp, Zach Shepard and Ragan McKenzie Shephard, all of Abilene; two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Landry; a brother, Ron Beebe and wife Bunny of Joplin, Missouri and a sister, Debbie Kyler and husband Don of Seneca, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
