Sheilah Kincaid, age 66, of Kaufman, died Thursday, September 28, 2017, in Medical City-Dallas, after fighting a long battle with cancer. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 2, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Kaufman, Texas, with Dr. Brent Gentzel officiating. Committal service will be 4:00 p.m. Monday in the Atoka Cemetery, Coleman County, Texas. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman and Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home, Kaufman.
She was born Sheilah Latrice Brown on July 5, 1951, in Nocona, Texas, the daughter of Robert Weston Brown and Avis Lillian Kerr Brown. When she was eight years old, she moved with her family to Novice, Coleman County, where she attended school most of her life, but graduated from Strawn High School. On May 22, 1961 Sheilah accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She attended Trinity Valley Junior College and received an associate degree in Computer Science. On June 19, 1971, she married Gary R. Kincaid in Jacksonville, Florida and they have celebrated 46 years of marriage. Following their marriage, Gary and Sheilah lived in Arlington and then moved to Kaufman in 1981. She was a homemaker but also assisted her husband in his business, Gary Kincaid Scale Company. She worked for Kaufman ISD daycare and for Promiseland Preschool at First Baptist Church, Kaufman. She was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church in Kaufman County.
Survivors include her husband, Gary R. Kincaid of Kaufman; one daughter, Sherrie Latrice Teel and husband Daryl of Kaufman; one son, Gary Seaborn Kincaid and wife Ashley of Seven Points; one brother, Robert Brown and wife Joyce of Spring; grandchildren, Chelsie Teel and husband Syd Carter, Heather Bateman and husband Rustin Bateman, Kristina Eaton and husband John Jonas, Colton Teel and wife Grace Teel, Tyler Kincaid, Weston Teel and Chad Badgett; great grandchildren, Adalyn Jonas, Conner Bateman, Scarlett Jonas, Timothy Teel, Ardon Carter, Caleb Bateman, Madeline Teel.
Sheilah was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Timothy Ray Kincaid, in 2006.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 1, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home, 2217 S. Washington Street, Kaufman, Texas 75142.
