Shirley (Farris) Anthony

Shirley Anthony, age 78, of Abilene, died on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Mesa Springs Nursing Home.  Shirley had chosen to be cremated and her family is honoring her wishes. Arrangements were entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.

Shirley Ann Anthony was born on May 27, 1944, in Coleman.  Her parents were Wallace A. Farris and Dorothy Dobbins Farris.  She grew up in Coleman where she attended school, graduating in the Class of 1962.  Following her graduation from high school, Shirley moved to Abilene.  On February 22, 1964, she married Bobby Carl Anthony at Bible Baptist Church in Coleman.  Following their marriage, they lived in Abilene.   He preceded her in death on April 27, 2018.  Shirley was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom to their only child, Sabrina.  She was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Sabrina Kirk, and husband Rusty of Abilene; one grandson, Cody Kirk and wife Paige of Abilene; three great-grandchildren, Casten, Copen and Tanzlen; two uncles,  numerous cousins and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her grandson, Drew Kirk, on August 16, 2017.
