Teena Gayle (Vance) Walls

Teena Gayle Vance Walls departed from her Earthly home in Lake Jackson on April 8, 2019.

Teena was born on February 18, 1959 in Amarillo, Texas to Pat and Cecil Vance.  The family moved to Lake Jackson in 1966 where she attended school and graduated in 1977 from Brazoswood High School. She attended Brazosport College after graduation. In 2009 she took the last two classes needed to complete her Associate of Arts Degree. Her family was present to see her walk to get her degree from Brazosport College that same year.

In 1982 she married Bill Holcomb and they had a beautiful daughter, Nikki Renee Holcomb, born January 17, 1988. Teena and Bill divorced in 1999.  In June 2003 she married Art Walls in Reno, Nevada with close family present.

She worked at various jobs until her mother retired in 1995. At that time she took over the bookkeeping position for ADA Resources. She was a year away from retiring from her current position as Laundry Captain for the TDCJ - Clemens Unit in Jones Creek, Texas.

She had always liked to sew, but had in the past few years started becoming a quilter. She had a real skill for this art, and it became a passion of hers through the time spent creating the items. She made many pieces for family and friends during this time, and had plans to do so much more. A quilting cruise was on her wish list for the coming year with her mother as well.

Teena is preceded in death by her grandparents, and sister Tammy Alberthal.

Teena is survived by her husband Art Walls of Lake Jackson, daughter Nikki Holcomb of Kemah, parents Pat and Cecil Vance of Santa Anna, brother Terry Vance of Temple, brother-in-law Mark Alberthal of Boerne, step-son Jeremy Walls of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, step-daughter and husband Gillian and Cory Robinson, step-granddaughters Ava and Samantha Robinson all of Belleville, Ontario, Canada.

Teena will be interred in the Stewardson Cemetary in Santa Anna, Texas on Friday, April 12, 2018 with Pastor Kathy Monroe, of the First Presbyterian Church of Santa Anna, officiating.  Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.
