Thomas "Bud" Heiser, 85, of Coleman, died Friday, June 26, 2015 at Coleman County Medical Center. A memorial service with Military Honors will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home, 1503 South Gaston Street, Crane, Texas, with Joseph Buse officiating. Inurnment will be in the Crane County Cemetery, under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home. Arrangements in Coleman are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Bud Heiser was born November 12, 1929 in Millersview in Concho County to Albert L. Heiser and Marie Barsch Heiser. He grew up in Millersview and also in Glen Cove in Coleman County. He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1955 in Germany. Bud worked as a mechanic at Durham's Garage in Coleman. In 1975, Bud married Wanda Weddle in Crane. Bud worked for the County of Crane of many years as mechanic and heavy equipment operator. He was also a member of the Crane Volunteer Fire Department, Commander of the American Legion in Crane and was very active in the Crane County 4-H. He was also a member of Crane Christian Church. Bud and Wanda moved back to Coleman in 1995.
Bud loved to hunt and fish, loved dancing, going to auctions and watching western movies and television shows. His greatest love, though, was his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was known as "Mr. Trouble" to all of them.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Heiser of Coleman, two sons, David Heiser and wife, Lynn, of Abilene, Tony Heiser and wife, Shelly, of Coleman; special children adopted by love, Joseph and Mary Buse of Norton; sister, Gertrude Johnson of Midland; grandsons, Jonathan Campbell and wife, Jeanie, of Abilene, Adam Heiser and wife, Melissa, of Abilene, Nicholas Heiser of Dallas, Scott Heiser of Dallas, Justin Heiser of Abilene; granddaughter, Stephenia Salge and husband, Jeremy, of Baird; 15 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews and his special companion, Princess.
Besides his parents, Bud was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
The family of Thomas "Bud" Heiser would like to thank "Bud's Special Girls," the nurses at Coleman County Medical Center and at CMS Health Care.
