Timmy Joe Golson

December 4, 1954 — January 3, 2025

Coleman

December 4, 1954 - January 3, 2025, born in Coleman County, Timmy (Tim) Joe Golson passed away in his hometown of Coleman at the age of 70.

Tim’s legacy is carried on by his wife, Suzanne; their daughter, Lauren and her spouse, Cody Brown; his son, Toby and his spouse, Melinda Golson; his brother, Tony and his spouse, Susan Golson; his brother-in-law, Ted and his spouse, Lee Ann Robinson. He is survived by his pride and joys, his grandsons, Cole, Seth, Trig, Emmett and Elliott; multiple nephews and nieces, as well as an army of Golson cousins, led by Michelle, whom were his closest confidants. Preceding him in peace were Tyler (son), Haley (granddaughter), Tracy (brother), Tamarah (sister), Tammy (sister), Joe and Hope Golson (parents).

Honorable mentions that Tim would have acknowledged due to their years-long friendship, fellow Wild Moose members: Ted Robinson, Wayne Kitchens, Tim Earles, and David Reid. These men were a brotherhood for Tim. They traveled many miles together, sleeping under the stars, exchanging stories, and singing cowboy songs (often out of key).

As many knew, Tim wasn’t just a lifelong fan of sports but also a devoted softball coach and Coleman Bluecats fan. He preached the 4 D’s of life: “Desire. Determination. Discipline. Dedication.” His passion was helping others achieve their goals while having fun and find their love of the game. Many fellow coaches, players and parents became like family over the years. He smiled when speaking of the glory days, whether it was his own or someone else’s son or daughter’s.

Just like Tim, this would not be complete without mentioning his fur babies. He always had his favorite sidekicks in his pickup. Lauren joked that when she graduated high school she was replaced by his dogs. A man’s best friend, that they were.

This is not your traditional obituary but rather one that tells the story of a man who lived a good life, as he put it. A man who was loved and had the fight of a warrior but with a warm heart. A man who will be missed by many, but especially by his family.
