Tommie James Dawson

Tommie James Dawson, 83, of Coleman, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo. Graveside funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2016 at the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Tommie James Dawson was born December 23, 1932 in Lawn to Ollie Jack Dawson and Hattie Lou Hambrick Dawson. He grew up and attended school in Rock Springs. On May 22, 1954, he married Barbara Berry in Coleman. He worked as a sales representative in the oil industry and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Dawson of Coleman; two children, Cathy Lacy and husband, Ricky, of Ballinger, Jerry Dawson of Coleman; one sister-in-law, Linnie Dawson Watson of Coleman; five grandchildren, Toby Sikes of Early, Cody Lambert of Burleson, Trey Sikes of Bangs, Joshua Lambert of Midland, Jennifer Ford of Bangs, Lana Guerrero of Lake Brownwood; 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Tommie was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Dawson, two daughters, Becky Dawson and Jamie Parsell and his step-father, Willie Guthrie.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Stevens Funeral Home.
