Tommy Medrano, age 63, of Coleman, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 4, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Romanus Akamike officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Tommy was born on May 27, 1950 in Coleman, Texas, a son of Melchor Medrano and Matilde Dela Rosa Medrano. He grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School.
He moved to Brenham where he worked at the Sealy Mattress Factory for 15 years. He returned to live in Coleman in June 2013. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coleman.
Survivors include one daughter, Allison Medrano Martinez and husband Mark of Coleman; his two beautiful granddaughters, Marisa and Madilyn Martinez; five sisters, Elisa Nunez, Mary Ann Gallegos, Mary Lou Garrett all of Coleman, Lydia Saucedo of Abilene and Lollie Medrano of Irving; two brothers, Rudy Medrano of Ballinger and Mel Medrano of Grand Prairie; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jasper Medrano and a sister, Delfina Nunez.
Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. November 3, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas.
