Velma Mae (Henderson) Henderson

Velma Mae Henderson, age 96, of Santa Anna, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Coleman County Medical Center.  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 4, 2019 at the Santa Anna Cemetery Pavilion with Dr. Chas Shira, pastor of First Baptist Church in Coleman, officiating.  Interment will follow at the Santa Anna Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

Velma was born January 25, 1923 in Comanche, Texas to Ira Lee Henderson and May Florence Barcroft Henderson.  She lived in Santa Anna along with her sister, Odessa, for many years.  Velma was a Certified Nurses Aid for the Ranger Hill Nursing Home in Santa Anna for 16 years.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Santa Anna.  Although her passing leaves a void, we rejoice knowing she is with her family once again.

Velma is preceded in death by her parents, Ira Lee and May Florence Henderson; her brothers, C.L., Ira, JD, Elmer, and Homer Henderson; and one sister, Odessa Henderson.

She is survived by her nephew, Larry Don Henderson and wife Caryl; great-niece, Lana Saverance; and great-great nieces and nephews, Logan, Landyn, Brylee, and Kaitie.
