Victor T. Sanchez, age 87, of Coleman, died Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Hendrick Medical Center South in Abilene.  There will be a private family rosary recited.  A public visitation and service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Laurent Mvondo officiating.  Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home.

Victor T. Sanchez was born on June 5, 1935 in Batidora, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, a son of Dionico Sanchez and Dolores Torres Sanchez.  He grew up in Mexico where he attended school.  At the age of 16, he moved to Coleman by himself where he worked picking cotton and doing other farm related jobs.  He then brought the rest of his family to Texas.  On June 24, 1961, he married Juanita Frausto at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coleman.  When he was 19 years old, he went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad as a trackman, truck driver and then was promoted to machine operator.  He retired in 1995 and  enjoyed his retirement with traveling, fishing and deer hunting.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Holy Name Society and Cursillista..  Victor was a beloved husband, father and  grandfather who took good care of his family.  He is deeply mourned and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Juanita (Jane) Sanchez;  children, Irma Sanchez Devanney and husband Phillip Devanney of Burkett, Dennis Sanchez and wife Michelle of Bangs, Victor Sanchez and wife Kendra of Coleman,  Sandra Sanchez Hunnicutt and husband Thomas of Katy, Ricky Sanchez and wife Rosanna of Coleman, Sylvia Sanchez Arechiga and husband Ray of Branson, Missouri and Lyndsi Tobolka and husband Tyler of Katy; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Rudy Sanchez of Coleman; three sisters, Aurelia Rosales and husband Robert, Linda Nunez and husband Ray and Dolores Mendoza all of Coleman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Alfonso Sanchez and one sister, Mary De Leon.
