Virginia Lee Carville Brannon

February 21, 1931 — April 19, 2015

Virginia Lee Carville Brannon, 84, of Coleman died Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Wisteria Place Retirement Living in Abilene. Funeral mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 East College Avenue, Coleman, with Rev. Romanus Akamike officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Virginia Lee Carville Brannon was born February 21, 1931 in Corpus Christi to Sherold Carville and Hallie York Carville. She grew up in the Echo community in Coleman County and graduated from Coleman High School. She later attended Howard Payne College, now Howard Payne University in Brownwood. On October 9, 1948, she married William Robert Brannon in Coleman. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1991.

Mrs. Brannon owned Brannon Bookkeeping and the H&R Block franchise in Coleman for 37 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Barbara Doerfler of Kendalia, Shelli Baxter of Houston; seven sons, Daniel Brannon of Tonasket, Washington, Dennis Brannon and wife, Marla, of Austin, Anthony Brannon of Dallas, Timothy Brannon and wife, Valerie, of Tuscola, Terrance Brannon of Coleman, Patrick Brannon of Brownwood, Christopher Brannon and wife, Carrie, of Allen; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, William Robert Brannon, Jr. in 1996.

Rosary service will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2015 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman.

Memorial donations in Mrs. Brannon's memory may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 East College Avenue, Coleman, Texas 76834.
