Wade Sutphin, age 63, of Coleman, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014, at an Abilene hospital. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Wade was born October 31, 1950 in Casper, Wyoming, a son of Imogene Josephine Harris Sutphin and the late James LeRoy Sutphin. He grew up in Casper and attended school there. He served in the United States Army. On April 25, 2011 he married Shay’Ann Stephenson in Casper, Wyoming. He was retired as an automotive body technician. Wade was a member of Harley Owners Group and he enjoyed the freedom of the road.
Survivors include his wife, Shay Sutphin of Coleman; his mother, Jo Sutphin of Casper, Wyoming; three sons, Matthew Sutphin of Gresham, Oregon, Jesse Sutphin and wife Becci of Casper, Wyoming and Charles Sutphin and wife Lacey of Rancho Cucamonga, California; five step-children, April and J. J. Zurn, Deseria Barelle, Shannon and husband Juan Carranza, Dustin and wife Chelsi Barelle and Adam Barelle all of Casper, Wyoming; 17 grandchildren; one brother, Keven and wife Carla Sutphin of Casper, Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, RLea Gerhart.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 8, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas.
