William E. "Willie" Stewart

William E. “Willie” Stewart, age 67, of Coleman, died Thursday, April 15, 2021 at his residence.

A celebration of his life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.  The family will greet friends at the funeral home after the service.

He was born William Elbert Stewart on February 20, 1954 in Waco, Texas to William Herman Stewart and Mildred Mozelle Brister Stewart.  Willie was raised in Mineola until relocating to Coleman at the age of 12.  He graduated from Coleman High School and started a career in welding.  Willie loved to go fishing and hosted great fish fries to celebrate the days catch.  He enjoyed playing poker and one of his favorite past times was to go dove hunting.  Willie loved his family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible.  He was a loving father to his sons and adored his grandchildren.  Willie will be missed by all who knew him.

Preceding Willie in death are his parents, William Herman Stewart and Mildred Stewart; two brothers, Charles Stewart and Ronald Stewart; and one sister, Ann Ogles.

He is survived by his two sons, William Jason “Willie J.” Stewart and wife Shara of Coleman and Bradly Wes Stewart and wife Kori of Abilene; his former spouse and mother of his children, Sherry Lee Stewart; five grandchildren, Bailey Stewart, Jacob Stewart, Olivia Stewart, Braylon Stewart, and Brielle Stewart; and one sister, Adna Clevenger and husband Joel of Conroe.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Willie to a charity of the donor’s choice.
