Willis Morris, Jr

Willis Morris, Jr., 85, of Santa Anna, died Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Graveside funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Santa Anna Cemetery Pavilion, 206 Fannin Street, Santa Anna. Burial will follow in the Santa Anna Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Willis Morris, Jr. was born February 24, 1930 close to the city of Santa Anna in Coleman County to Joe Morris and Annie Elizabeth Willis Morris. He grew up in Santa Anna and attended school there. He served in the United States Army, serving one tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. Following his discharge from the United States Army, Willis worked as a driller on oil rigs.

Willis married Marcia Montgomery on October 12, 1954 in Hobbs, New Mexico. His family was very important to him.

Survivors include six children, Cathy Hazenberg and husband, Bob, of Comanche, Michael Smith of Killeen, Ricky Morris of Abilene, Joe Morris and wife, Pam, of Santa Anna, Gary Morris of Santa Anna, Willa Puckett and husband, Robert, of Santa Anna; two sisters, Annie Merle Morris of Talpa, Sybil Martin of Talpa; seven grandchildren, Paul Morris of Santa Anna, Kevin Morris and wife, Wendy, of Santa Anna, Keith Morris of Santa Anna, Justin Morris of Santa Anna, Tina Morris of Henderson, Jerry Smith, Jr. of New Liberty, Indiana, Michael Lee Smith of Lampasas and numerous great grandchildren and geat-great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Marcia Morris in 2007; one son, Jerry M. Smith, four brothers, Clifford Morris, J.T. Morris, Marion "Boots" Morris, Joe Roy Morris; three sisters, Joyce Early, Cleta Bowen and Gladys McGhee.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman.
